
The Department of Physics at SNGS College Pattambi began in 1967, originally offering Physics in pre-degree courses. It later served as a subsidiary subject in B.Sc. Chemistry and subsequently launched its own B.Sc. Physics degree in 2012, under the University of Calicut.
The college as a whole is a NAAC A+ accredited government institution with a long history of academic excellence, offering 11 undergraduate and several postgraduate and research programs.
