As per the provisions of the ‘POSH‘Act, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013,an Internal Complaints Committee has been constituted at Sree Neelakanta Govt. Sanskrit College Pattambi, Palakkad. The committee is formed to provide protection against sexual harassment of female employees and students in the campus and for the prevention and redressal of complaints of sexual harassment and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Objectives
1.To develop a policy against sexual harassment of women at the institution.
2. To promote a social and psychological environment to raise awareness on sexual harassment in its various forms.
3.To create a secure physical and social environment to deter any act of sexual harassment.
4. Prevention of discrimination and sexual harassment against women, by promoting gender amity among students and employees.
5. Deal with cases of discrimination and sexual harassment against women in a time bound manner aiming at ensuring support services to the victimized and termination of the harassment.
What constitute sexual harassment?
Sexual Harassment includes unwelcome sexual behavior of direct or implied nature such as
- Physical contact and advances
- Requests for sexual favors
- Sexually colored remarks
- Showing pornography
- Unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal sexual conduct

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) was structured as per rules of Sexual Harassment of Women at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013. ICC has been constituted in our college on 25/11/2021 with the following members Smt.Prasanna.P.K, Vice-Principal and HOD, Dept. of Economics as the Co-ordinator, Dr.Thanuja.G, Dept. of Malayalam and Smt. Rajitha.C.R, Dept. of Commerce, Senior Superintend and Smt.Sarojini.M.P from office, Dr.Sobha.P.V, Member from NGO, Three students, College Union Chairman, General Secretary (College Union), Vice Chairman (College Union) as the members. No cases of sexual harassment were reported in this session.
