EARN WHILE YOU LEARN – 2025 -26 ANNUAL REPORT
A meeting of 22 students was convened by the Co- Ordinator Dr. Sheena. P., Associate professor of Zoology on 22-08-2025, and constituted the EWYL group of students. Later on 13 more students were joined the group on their interest. The meeting decided to maintain a vegetable – plantain garden in the college, campus. And started the works, on purchasing a few gardening equipments. Firstly, cleared the weeds on the proposed garden. Then sowed the the seeds of lady’s finger, pumpkin, amaranthus, chilly, brinjal etc.
An apiary of 6 hives of stingless honey bee also was set up in the campus with the monitory support of Rs. 5800/ from PTA.
On the direction from the DCE, proposal for vegetable garden and bookbinding was submitted on 23-08-2026. Based on this administrative sanction for Rs. 159000/- was obtained for book binding work. (Order No. DCETVM/4104/2025-PS dated 25-09-2-25) . Nineteen students participated in the book binding work, and an initial training was conducted for them on 6-12-2025 & 20-12-2025 under the guidance of College, Librarian, Dr. Shajihan. The work was completed by 2-03-2026 and 1835 library books were bound by the students. An amount of Rs. 153536/- was expended for work for material purchase, stipend, Trainer honorarium, TA and DA etc. Repayment of balance amount of Rs. 5464/- was done. The detailed report of the Programme for 2025-26 was submitted to the Principal, on 5-3-2026.
