Abstract
പ്രമേയത്തിലും ആഖ്യാനതലത്തിലും തീർത്തും വ്യത്യസ്തമായ, ആധുനികാനന്തരതയുടെ മൂന്നു പാഠഭേദങ്ങൾ എന്ന നിലയിൽ അവതാരികാകാരന്മാരാൽ വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കപ്പെട്ട വി. എം. ദേവദാസിന്റെ മൂന്നുനോവലുകളാണ് ‘ഡിൽഡോ’, 'പന്നിവേട്ട’, 'ചെപ്പും പന്തും' എന്നിവ. മൂന്ന് വിഭിന്നനഗരങ്ങളെ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചാണ് ഈ മൂന്ന് നോവലുകളുടെയും ഇതിവൃത്തം ചിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളത്.
വാടകക്കെട്ടിടത്തെ കേന്ദ്രമാക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഈ കഥാഖ്യാനത്തിൽ, ചെന്നൈയിൽ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്ന വ്യത്യസ്തരായ മനുഷ്യർ ഒരു നഗരസ്ഥലത്തെ നിർവചിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെയെന്ന് ട്രാൻസ് കൾച്ചറലിസം പോലുള്ള സങ്കല്പനങ്ങളും മറ്റ് നഗരസിദ്ധാന്തങ്ങളുമുപയോഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അന്വേഷണവിധേയമാക്കുന്നു. ഈ നോവൽ വിശകലനങ്ങളെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിക്കൊണ്ട് ഉത്തരാധുനിക നഗരസ്ഥലികതയെ മലയാളനോവൽ എങ്ങനെ ആഖ്യാനത്തിലൂടെ വിഭാവനം ചെയ്യുന്നവെന്ന് സിദ്ധാന്തീകരിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിലാണ് പ്രബന്ധം ചിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.
