Monsoon Fest 2017

College hosted Monsoon Fest  organized by Bharat Bhavan in association with the South Zone Cultural Centre, Government of Kerala on August 11..   The monsoon dances of  Nine states of India and boasts of a variety of dances including the ‘Bhangra’ dance of Punjab to the ‘Karagattam/Kavadi’ of Tamil Nadu were peroformed. The group which includes 150 artistes from 10 states including Kerala  peroformed different folk dance forms of India which including Siddi Dhamal- a dance form performed by the Siddhi community of Gujurat, a community which had migrated to the country from Africa over 700 years ago during the days of slavery.  Other folk art forms which was showcased at the fest also include Odisha’s Sambalpuri Dance, Andhra Pradesh’s Garagalu, Dhimsa Dance of Telengana, Mayur Nritya of Uttar Pradesh, Dollu Kunitha- a drum dance of Karnataka, Maharashtra’s Lavani dance and other indigenous folk dance forms of Kerala. Said Pramod Payyanur, member secretary, Bharat Bhavan, “The aim of the event is to take these art forms and familiarise them with all the districts, including villages in the state.” The programme was inaugurated by Muhammed Mohsin M.L.A..

Web Site Development Workshop

College IQAC has organized a one day workshop in College web content development and management. IQAC coorfinator and site administrator Dr. H.K. Santhosh lead the workshop. Earlier  College Principal Dr. Suma K.K. inagurated the event.

College Magazine Released

College Magazine for the year 2016-17 was released in a well-organized meeting. Pattambi MLA Sri. Mohammed Mohsin released the magazine by giving one copy to  Baby,  College canteen employeeThe title of the magazine is Mamsabook'.



Parent Teachers Association in association with Department of Sanskrit conducted Annual Punnasseri Memmorial Talk on July 19. This year's lecture, entitled 'Interpretations of Rasasoothra' was given by Dr. C.M. Neelakandan. Earlier Dr. C.P Chithrabhanu delivered Gurusmarana.


IQAC organized a talk on  Current Trends in Solar Energy Research and Future Perspetives. on July 14 at seminar hall. The talk was delivered by Dr. Vinod E. Madhavan, Scientist at Qutar Scientist at Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute  who is also a former student of the college.


P.G. Admission Notification 2017-18

Vayanavaram” was observed in the College from 19th to 2th June with a variety of programmes and competitions. On 22nd June 2017 College Library organized a special programme  to honour the contributions of P.N. Panicker to the cause of literacy, education and library movement. Renowned oet Veerankutty formally inagurated the function. His new book was also released in the function.

Ph.D Awarded

Tisha. V, UGC Research Fellow of Malayalam Departmnet was conferred with a Ph.D in Malayalamt by University of Calicut  for her research on 'വിലാസിനിയുടെ നോവലുകളില്‍ പ്രതിഫലിക്കുന്ന ബോധധാരാ സങ്കേതങ്ങളും അവയുടെ മന:ശാസ്ത്ര സൗന്ദര്യാത്മക ദര്‍ശനവും'

Ranks for Commerce Department

Our Commerce& Management students bagged topmost ranks in the Calicut University B.Com /B.B.A Examinations. Kum Shaiba P got first Rank and Kum. Manju K got 8th Rank in B.B.A. In B.Com Kum. Gayathri V.P. secured 5th rank and Kum Nimitha P got 8th Rank. Congratulations to all winners.
